Best Sermon I Have Ever Heard - Reaching The Unchurched

Every week, I watch a church on the internet in Anderson, SC.
This is probably the best and most interesting sermon I have ever seen in my life!
Warning: The more churched you are, the more you are likely to be offended.

Perry Noble has to be one of the most transparent preacher's I've ever heard.

It's refreshing.

That guy absolutely rocks my entire sock drawer. I got the rest of the series to date and can't wait to listen to it.

My only quibble is that it seemed a *tad* unbalanced. I agree with everything he said, but at the same time, Jesus said that if your hand causes you to sin to cut it off. Yes He was speaking in hyperbole, but the principle is very clear - if you don't deal ruthlessly with sin, sin will deal ruthlessly with you. He was talking about how there are ministries who go out and witness to pr0n stars, and I 100% agree with their ministry. The inextricable appendix to that is that someone who has a known weakness in that area such that it creates a much greater propensity for them to sin must not directly partake in that ministry. If secular culture causes someone to sin, then using it to witness to others probably isn't the means that God has called you to use in order to reach others. His message here seemed to glaze over that, but I do 100% agree with everything he did say.

Joey

Joey,

On the message on drinking he does specifically state that if you have had problems with drinking in the past then don't have a drink. Yes - he says it is ok to have a single drink now and then. So he has addressed that but just not yesterday. The porn ministry (how wierd is to say/write that?) is definitely not for everyone.

Personally, I couldn't watch the whole thing. I quit watching when he implied that we should not be offended by 'mermaid boobies' on a Starbucks cup. But yet millions are offended by the words 'in God we trust'? And have succeeded in getting many references of God removed? Why SHOULDN'T we be offended? Ya, if you don't wanna see mermaid boobies don't buy Starbucks, if you're offended by a movie don't go see it. So in other words...ignore it.

The real substance of the sermon is after that Starbucks comment.

But anyway, what I think is so great about Perry is that he gives sermons that are real, relevant, attractive to young Christians, and very easy to understand. That's why I have been watching him for about 6 months now!

Revealing Starbucks logo gets mixed reviews.

[insert standard mermaid boobie warning here]

Ok now that I see the actual logo it's really not that bad. But my opinion still stands. My husband even disagreed with me on the whole boycotting issue. He says that if you're going to boycott one you need to boycott them all. Obviously that isn't possible so what is a Christian to do?
