Great News I know this is not technical related but I just had to share this with everyone. My son who turned 14 this week (he is also on my AV Team at church so I guess it can be classified as “technical” ) just returned from Youth Camp. All the kids were reluctant to go but one of our Youth Leaders really took it upon himself to push them and get them involved in fundraisers to pay their expenses. We had a total of 12 kids to go this year for the first time. Anyway, he called the first night and talked up a storm and very excited about camp. He called again on Thursday night (11:30 pm!) and said he had something to tell us. He said he had been “feeling kinda funny for the last year” (his words) and wanted to make sure of things so HE ACCEPTED CHRIST into his life! Also, one of his friends felt the same way and HE ACCEPTED CHRIST! They both had made a decision early in their lives but now it was real to them. By the end of the week, out of our group of 12 kids, 4 accepted Christ and 3 rededicated their lives. He and his friend also were involved in leading the worship time one night. They are all pumped up and on fire right now and we are going to put them to the test as they are helping in our VBS this week. Please pray for them in their growth in the Lord.Isn’t it great, a member of my AV Team, even better a teenager, even better MY SON! It doesn’t get much better than this! Signed, A proud dad! ![]()

Congrats Mike. Peronsally, my second birthday holds more relevance then my first. That's really neat that God was able to use the church camp setting to work on your son. Be Proud! Last edited by imperialspatula; Tuesday, June 24th, 2003 at 11:24 AM.

I agree with you. They learned some really neat witnessing techniques and tools to help make it easier for them to share with others. Thursday nite is our big push for evangelism in our VBS this week and they are chomping at the bits to be able to use their "Evangecubes" with the kids. It is sort of like a Rubix (? sp) cube with pictures that changes as you twist it. Its pretty neat. I guess media doesn't have to be all digital huh? ![]()

I’m rejoicing with you! I believe that’s really why we are all gathered in this community to see people come to Christ and grow in Christ. I believe that being a media team leader is about a lot more than just media. We have the ability to be the hands and feet of Jesus to our team. My son (now 19) and I started the media team at our church about 3 years ago. It has been wonderful to watch him grow in the Lord. I believe you will be richly blessed as you watch your son grow in the Lord. My team now consists of mostly teenagers and I am honored to have a part in helping them grow in Christ. I’ve seen teenagers without much self worth and you get them involved in media because they think is cool and watch the changes in them. To know Him and make Him known!

| This really is awesome! Don't worry that it's not exactly media... it was too good not to share. Besides, this is what the media's all about... winning some for Christ. Glad it's your son. ![]()
