capturing sermon for upload to internet

This is the ideal situation...have live video going from video camera to computer. Be able to click record on the software for when sermon starts. This would eliminate video editing. Once the recording is done then I press stop on the software. Then I would save the file and upload to website. The question is what software/hardware will I need to accomplish this? I'm looking for an easy way to upload sermon to internet without spending a lot of time. or does anyone have another idea that's quick and easy?

I use Adobe Premiere Pro for the video capture from the camera to the computer.

I then compress the raw video file (19GB) down to 400MB using Compressor 4.

I then upload the file to Vimeo, wait for it to convert the file to a mobile device compatible format.

Then I embed the Vimeo file URL into the website HTML code.

I don't have the camera in front of me, but it is a Sony HVR-Z5U Video Camera (apprx. $3500) and I use a 9-pin Male IEEE 1394b FireWire to 4-pin Male IEEE 1394b FireWire cable to connect to the Apple iMac mini computer we have.

I like that I can see the video output from the camera while recording so we can see the final product. It makes it easier to pan and zoom when the picture is so much larger than the little 4" display on the camera (that is 2 feet above our heads sitting on the wall that surrounds the video booth).

Thanks SterlingAug! Do you have your sermons on-line? I'd love to see the quality of the video from your camera?

If you dont need to do any editing, you can save yourself many, MANY hours of H.264 transcoding/compressing by recording straight to H.264 using a BlackMagic Video Recorder. This literally gets you to your stop-recording-and-immediately-upload goal.

We record in HD mode in case there would be a need to burn DVD later. The compression process only takes 35 mins. I don't mind the video compression and upload times since I use iTeleport Connect to remote control into the church iMac from my iPhone or iPad. After the upload is done, then I turn off the iMac remotely.

The BlackMagic video recorder seems like a great idea too. What video camera do you use with BlackMagic, Petereit?

We don't use a BlackMagic Video Recorder. We edit our video before we post it, so recording straight to H.264 doesn't fit our workflow.

Is it possible to send the video/audio to two outputs at the same time? It would be nice to send one to a DVD recorder and the other one to the computer via Black Magic. The DVD version would have the entire service and the H.264 version would just have the sermon only.
