Guest Access Acceptable Use Policy

I'm going to enable an AUP for guest internet access. Do you all have any pointers or templates that I can build after?

Thanks,

Definitely set up an OpenDNS account and configure your access point to use it. Easiest way I know to keep most of the junk on the Internet off your network.

We were running OpenDNS but I've switched over to Untangle. Great network security appliance!

But I want all guest users to accept an AUP every time they use the internet.

As a guest that would just irritate me. I wouldn't read it, I would just quickly scan for the accept button. I don't think I'm unusual in that respect.

Are you having problems that have led you to wanting the AUP?

But even if you did just click accept (like all of us do), I at least have proof that you did accept the terms of agreement.

No issues right now.

But I don't want any legal implications to come out of unauthorized or illegal use of our guest access. We have a decent size neighborhood across the street from our campus and I'm sure if you had a high gain wifi adapter that you could pick up the signal.

In addition to the AUP, I'm planning on putting in a rotating password that changes every two weeks just to further limit unauthorized use. I have seen some abnormal bandwidth spikes and am trying to track them down. I figured this would help the issue out.

We use an Apple Airport extreme for our guest access. I have an Automator script set up that turns on the open "guest" leg 30 minutes before our services start and turns it off 30 minutes after services dismiss. The secure "office" leg is always available but password protected, no SSDI broadcast.
