Question multiple audio feeds from computer

hey,

i was wondering if there is any kind of software/app to "mix" audio playing from multiple applications from a computer.
For instance, i want to continue playing music from iTunes, while i silence whatever audio MediaShout is putting out.

What comes to mind to me is multiple output interfaces, where you have a clean iTunes channel and a clean Mediashout channel.

When working on a vista system trying to figure out the issue of the "default beep" whenever you clicked certain things in MS, I noticed that at least on the system I was fixing that vista's sound mixer listed items by application, and would let me mute (and i think mix) per app.

One of the few things I liked about Vista (of course tracking down the default beep issue was a huge pain with no internet access where we set up!)
