Ok, I just reinstalled the driver and it works.... at least the headphones do now - I plugged the speakers into the headphone jack for now. The back panel is still seaming to not work even when I put the speakers into the "line in" input. Any other thoughts?

Steve

Try something other than line-in! Like speaker or line-out.

Yeah. Put it in the speaker connection.
There should be at least 3 of them since you have HD audio.

This might be a crazy question...but are you using powered speakers?
Because you have to! The old speakers that just plugged in without any electricity will not work on these boards.

hmmm.

I don't think it's the driver, or the headphones most likely wouldn't work.

Try to plug the headphones into the speaker plug on the back and see if you have sound. If so, it's a speaker issue. If not, it might be the driver...or you have a defective part on your board.
The good thing is that if it is defective...you can add a sound card without any trouble...unless you want to disassemble it and send the board back to NewEgg.
Let me know and we'll see what else we can do.

If it is the board I can just throw in the sound card that was in the old computer that I replaced. I'll try putting the headphones in the back later.
