Outlook disapears?

We have been using Outlook professional for several years now. Yesterday I went to create an e-mail and I found that my outlook had now become outlook express. All my my outlook icons where gone and I could not find it in programs. I attempted a system restore to no avail. Ireinstalled Outlook and repointed everything to it and everything came back but after about 2 hours outlook was gone again and express was back Ugg! I have done a full scan for viruses and other ugly things and am coming up clean. Our network appears clean. Any suggestons?? Thanks

I would seriously consider reformatting the hard drive and starting from scratch.

Sounds like something really nasty has buried itself deep into your OS.

before you do that though-vista or xp?

do you have office installed, or just outlook? Which version of outlook?

I agree if your icons are gone, something else is wrong, but just in case someone's run into that one before....
