Building Fund Theme

Greetings to One and All,

I solicit help from any of the many wonderful and talented media whizzes who reside in this community. I normally am responsible for the technical hardware side of our church, Turning Point Worship Center in Bartow , Florida. However, I have been asked to come up with a theme for our new Building Program. If anyone can provide me with even a hint of a "catchy" phrase or theme it would be greatly appreciated. Thanx again.

We recently used "Share the Vision" for a building program theme.

We just finished up our campaign, "For Such a Time as This" It is based on Ester's call by God to save her people from destruction. Here's that part of our website that covers the campaign...

Campaigns are a lot of work and should be done right. We really stepped up our effort in this campaign and put out the very best stuff we could.

What's the goal of the building program? Are you rebuilding, remodeling, expanding, building a first permanent home? Why are you doing it? What do you hope to be able to do AFTERWARDS that you can't do now? What will change? How do you expect the member's lives to change (for the better...) as a result of the extra giving they will have to do?

A huge barrage of questions but the more the campaign can focus on the "Church's Mission" based reasons for building (and biblical parallels ) the better...as opposed to catchy construction or "how big is the pile of money" themes that don't focus enough on WHY).

...althought I like RiverRa's song idea

For our relocation, we used "A Journey Beyond Imagination".

If I remember correctly, our first building campain for a new building was something cheesy like "New Building." Don't do that.

We added on a few years later and that building campaign was called "Beyond our Borders." Our church is pretty large, but in a tiny town... "Beyond Our Borders" was designed to make people understand that we're trying to reach beyond our tiny town - and even outside our county.

Ours have been:

Imagine--3 years to buy 40 acres
The Gap--1 month (for key leaders only) to fill in the fill the financial gap needed to finish our current space.
Opening the Gates--two weeks to buy adjoining land for parking.

The last of these had a committment card night tonight. We only need to raise 1/2 a million in the next two weeks. When you've seen what I've seen, that seems like no problem.

I'm guessing that our building project will be tied to our current "Externally focused church" series. That is the context that they are using to present the needs.
