Local 'Broadcasting'/Bluecasting from Board?

I'm wondering if there are any systems out there to "broadcast" or blue tooth broadcast (within the sanctuary/room) from the board to receivers.

I'm playing with the idea of getting good sound to several camcorders in the room.

You want to send the mix to camcorders in the room? Out of curiosity, what would be the purpose of doing that?

Its an idea I've been mulling over to let some kids shoot their own video of youth services and some events with good audio off the sound board on each camera and let each play with some editing on their own. And I have some other half baked ideas ideas if I can find some way of doing this.

Ah, ok that makes sense. Cool idea. I can't really think of a cost effective way to do it live, but what about giving them a recording of the event, then having them sync it up in post? That would give a little more editing experience (though potentially too much at that point).

You can either have them do it in post, or the other option is to use a stereo IEM transmitter fed from whatever console outputs you like, and put beltpacks with whatever sort of adapter or level converter is necessary at the camcorders. Which, post sounds a bit easier and cheaper, plus a good learning experience.

... something about syncing timecode ...

That's what I'm looking for... the ideas for post don't work for the ideas I'm mulling over - I looking to get good sound on the camcorders themselves during the shoot

It looks like the IEM setups for wireless in-ear monitors might be just the ticket!

You can have one wireless mic transmitter plugged into an output from the sound board (usually an Aux that is mixed for recording, not just the house mix which may not include all instruments) and receivers on any number of cameras. This is what I do when we are doing a multi-camera shoot so that it is easy to sync the multiple video tracks.

We have three Sennheiser wireless mic kits (body pack transmitter to small, camera mounted receiver) that I use. It works great and the audio is very high quality but you only get one channel of audio on the camera and then need to convert that channel to mono audio in your editing program. This is a great solution but not an inexpensive solution.

You could also do this with cables and adapters if you don't have wireless equipment available to you. You would need the ability to split the audio feed with some sort of isolated splitter, not just Y cables.
