| RS232 Control of CD player I am thinking about trying to control our Tascam CD500 CD player remotely over a wireless network using an adapter like Getting everything connected and working does not look to be much of a problem... But what about an RS232 interface program to to actually send the commands? Does anyone know of some sort of GUI terminal program that I could configure to just do the simple commands? Forward skip, Back skip, Play, Stop, & Cue/Call are really all it needs to do. It would also be nice to display the current track info, but not necessary. |

| You might check into irule. Its more targetted for DIY control of home theater, but they have a decent interface for smartphones that you can customize and they work with a number of hardware options. Might be more $$$ than you had hoped to spend. I use irule for controlling a projector, lighting, receiver and other electronics from several IOS devices. |
