RS232 Control of CD player

I am thinking about trying to control our Tascam CD500 CD player remotely over a wireless network using an adapter like this .

Getting everything connected and working does not look to be much of a problem...
But what about an RS232 interface program to to actually send the commands? Does anyone know of some sort of GUI terminal program that I could configure to just do the simple commands? Forward skip, Back skip, Play, Stop, & Cue/Call are really all it needs to do. It would also be nice to display the current track info, but not necessary.

You might check into irule.

Its more targetted for DIY control of home theater, but they have a decent interface for smartphones that you can customize and they work with a number of hardware options.

Might be more $$$ than you had hoped to spend.

I use irule for controlling a projector, lighting, receiver and other electronics from several IOS devices.

Should have specified: preferably for windows as I want to put the RS232 app on the same device I remote control our LS9 with (using AirFader software).
