Recording Worship Service Cheap

Hi I am the Administrative Assistant and Media Person at my church. I have been requested to start back recording services and producing cds quickly. I have recorded services on a voice recorder and burned it to a cd. I would burn cds through using Cd burning on a computer. However, it was difficult and it took a long time. I have been looking at CD duplicators and cd recorders because they will burn them quickly. Which cd duplicators or cd recorders would be good to purchase? Will an MP3 record well? I need advice. I have to have information to give to my Pastor.

What we do is record the service from the main mixer to a PC using EZTrackerCD. It is a program made for recording church services and has some nice features. http://eztrackercd.com/ It will run on almost any computer old or new.

As soon as finished use the included program in EZTracker, or the built in program in Win 7 or something like I tunes to burn the "Master cd.

Take this CD to a CD duplicator and burn a bunch of copies to give away.

We use wav files because not all CD players will play mp3s

Note, Some blank CDs record a lot slower then others. buy good quality

if you're burning audio CDs it really doesn't matter what you start with -- mp3 or wav -- because the computer is converting the audio to the same CD audio standard in both cases. It's not burning the actual mp3 or wav to the CD.

Though I suppose you COULD be burning a data CD in which case you would be limiting your audience to only those people that have CD players capable of processing wav file would be able to play.

Burn a standard audio CD and every CD player will be able to play it.

Your right, I mis-wrote. The standard CD that you can play in your boom box or car is not a wav file. It is simular, and both are uncompressed, but not the same. As Mark said, save it to the CD as a standard audio CD. If you first save to computer and then burn a audio CD I would start with wav.

The CD (file type .cda, 44.1kHz, 16 bit) must be finalized. In many CD burning programs, it takes a diligent search to find this feature.
