| Ambient Mic's Hey all! So, our Worship Pastor wants to have an ambient mic hung so that they can hear the congregation in their ears and on the recordings. I figure that is no problem, the kicker is she wants it to also run through the mains in hopes it would get them to clap or sing louder. Any idea on where to place the mic or is this even possible? We would be using an Audio Technica U853RW choir mic. |

| Part B won't work. The worship team is up there to lead. The congregation will not go louder then the worship team even with help. There is a trick that I enjoy showing new volunteers that I call the Congregation fader. If the worship team is leading with a song that the congregation knows and likes then you can very slowly turn up the main bringing up the entire worship team and the congregation will sing louder and louder until you go to far. Then the worship team is so loud the congregation gives up, and the volume drops like a stone. Even if you could do it without feedback, it wouldn't work. Frank |
