Zune to soundboard

Hi all. I'm hoping this is the right forum to ask this question. The pastor wants to have some meditative music played prior to service and has created a playlist on his Zune that he wants to use. Our board is a Mackie 24.4 analog board. Can I use the headphone jack on the Zune to send the signal to the board via the tape-in inputs, or is there another way to get the music to the FOH? I hope that's clear enough.
Thanks for your help.

I did this just yesterday. The line out from the Zune is stereo and the line in to a channel on the board (If you have a quarter inch input available) is usually mono. I used two short cables. One with stereo out from the zune to split RCA, left and right (which could also be attached directly to tape in) was attached to a second which was RCA to a mono quarter inch connector which was plugged into one of the available channels on the board. It works!

Thanks to Wayne, Nick and jsharris. I have the cable already, so I'll try using the tape-in ports first. I also have one channel available to use with the quarter-inch connector if necessary. Naturally I practice with this before Sunday

You can also use an xlr adapter. We do this all the time.

I have a Zune and use it in my car all the time via an auxiliary direct input.

I've found that the best way to regulate the sound is to turn the Zune all the way up to 20 and then regulate the volume with the stereo.

I would think this is what you may need to do and regulate the volume with the slider. So far, I've never had any problems with distortion, etc.

Good luck!

Chris
