is there an adapter that will convert the R,B,G cable to Yellow Video?
Reason.
We also purchased a tripod with remote control handles that plug into the same jack that the R,W & Y cable plugs in.

I am currently researching a new camera for the church I attend. We bought a camera about a year ago (Panasonic SDR-H40P) and it was bought because it was cheap ($300 or so) and they wanted one fast. I personally don't like the way the image looks but that is my opinion.

Anyway, I am looking for a new camera due to several problems we currently have.

1. There really is no one to man the camera, since I am also a musician.
2. Even though the camera is recording, people still tend to walk in front of it. The location is in the middle isle, which has moderate traffic, mostly due to officials.
3. We are using an extension cable to power the unit but the wall outlets are loose. When someone touches the extension cable (it's in a high traffic location), a bump will cause the power to cut.

Now what I am thinking is placing a camera to focus on the middle of the altar about 9 feet above the floor, so none of the isle traffic interferes with the recording. This means that it will be mounted on a wall (there is a section where the ceiling is dropped to accommodate the other floors, about 40' from the altar). With that, I will run the cables over the dropped ceiling to the sound room out back. This should hopefully eliminate all 3 problems.

After doing some research, I came across the Canon VC-C3 and I thought that was good, since that is something I am looking for. However, I do want some opinions if you guys have any. HD would be nice but SD is fine by us.

Also, I am thinking of connecting this particular camera to either a DVD recorder or an HDD DVR recorder (length of service is a concern as most services are about 4 hours each)

Pricing is also a concern since the estimated budget is that it needs to be under $800.

We are having don piper up here in oct. I need a decent video camera that can zoom from the back of auditorium media cart to the stage. I need to have either usb or firewire connectivity so i can pipe the video and audio to a pc that's going to encode this on the fly and pipe it upstairs to the main sactuary for folks we are going to put up there. Any reccommendations on a video camera? Netowrk, server, encoder hardware horsepower is there. (aka encoder machine is a athlon x2 2.8 ghz box with 2 gigs of ram. Network is 100 megabit from the pc to the server. Server is a dual p-4 xeon ht 2.8 ghz running gigabit lan to the switch so no contention issues. Need a camera and probably a capture card/usb dock as well.. I am familiar with doing this but it's been nearly 10 years since i did it last.. Last time I did this it was with a home camcorder using rca to an external breakout box encoding on the fly using realmedia for encdoing for dialup.. Oh btw the budget for this is 1k. Can this be done within this cost envelope?
