New worship space opening day!!!!
Today was opening day for our new worship space! It went great without any problems. Everyone was so joyous & excited! We are truly blessed to be able to gather in HIS house!
You can see pictures here (also shows construction history pics):
A video of the opening is here:
Carpet is not yet finished, but should be before next Sunday.
I'm so excited!
To God be the Glory!
Congrats Looks great...
But I do have a question.. out of curiosity..
Is all your music canned? did not see any instruments on stage etc.
Praise Team was up there with wireless mics.
Bringing New Technology to God's Families
Cool stuff! Do you get to breath yet? We just finished our add on space a couple of months ago and i'm still putting final touches on things.
So when are we going to get a technical tour? Grab a camera and give us the full tour. I've been wanting to do that with our space for a while so maybe i'll race you and see who get's it done first.
Awesome to see the space packed with people!
Oooh yeah, great idea. I would love to give a virtual tour...
May the righteous man win .
There is still a lot of stuff to do.
Move instruments & route cables under stage (we built a unique trench & trapdoor system for cable routing.... more on that later)
Move PTZ camera system (re-used from old space)
Run some CAT5 to the booth for internet access.
Fine tune the digital sound board settings & figure out a permissions system... that is going to take a while.
Train the rest of our tech team.
Plus lots of non-tech stuff too:
Finish carpeting the sanctuary
Finish pouring cement for the parking lot
Plus, our pastor is retiring this coming Sunday! A bunch of festivities for that are planned too.
I'm taking the night off tonight for some R&R. I don't think I have been to sleep before Midnight for a week and a half straight!
Very emotional weekend.
First FULL service in our new worship space & retirement of our Pastor, Dave Sikkema.
Had a HUGE potluck (anyone want some leftover food?), then a great retirement program.
Will will miss you Pastor Dave!
Very cool! I like the trap boxes in stage -- clever and looks like a great way to hide everything while still maintaining full access (and more flexibility than a normal stage box).
I aslo thought the mic/equipment storage unit behind FOH was very clever and convenient. I did wonder though, do you lock it or what keeps things from getting borrowed for other areas in the church?
Thanks for posting that!
