EAT - Encourage, Applaud, & Thank Here's where we can do exactly those things - encourage, applaud, and thank each other for our service to the kingdom - both here on CMN and, more importantly, in our churches or other ministries. The glory goes to God, but we're to build one another up!

so are we talking mini-convention or super group meeting? - I can get on board with that as well.
Even those of us who have already committed can put together a decent class.

what kind of gathering

It may just be a matter of semantics, but the word convention or even mini-convention conjures up a size and complexity and risk that I am not sure we should try to pull off. I think we can have several good workshops (maybe not mutiple choice workshops), a keynote or two, fellowship time to hang out and discuss, plus time for families and individuals to enjoy the specialness, which is Branson.

I'm less concerned what we call it, but more concerned that we keep things as simple as possible, but I am just one voice and I will support whatever direction the group wants to go.

I agree... call it what you will.

My heart wants to encourage the small area churches with pastors and tech volunteers who struggle with how and what to put on the screen week to week. (Yes, that's an oversimplification of the issue, but...)

CMN has always seemed to be a ministry that helps fill that need.

I've also always wanted to have Len and Jason come do their 2 day thing in this area. I know they've been and/or are going to be "around" here, but I'm not afraid of any overlap.

So... could we double dip and do a couple of days of CMN Super Group and then a couple of MO's seminar?

I still like mid-March because there's still time to go back and implement stuff in time for Easter!

Let me pray more about all of this, talk with my family and my church leadership to see if this is something we'd be willing to take on full bore!

At the very least, I'm on board for helping coordinate a CMN "Reunion"!

great combo

Richard
I think that could be a powerful combo. And I do like the March dates especially with shows and Silver Dollar City being open on weekend. I'm sure Len and Jason would be willing to work with us to make that happen.

I've checked my calendar and see that I'm in Europe for business from March 26 until April 8th. Suffice it to say, I would also prefer the mid-March (16-18?) dates

coming together

Since Richard has given us helpful insight into the dates, I'd say lets go for beginning on Wednesday, March 16 & 17 with the super reunion or gathering (for those who have never been to one of these) and then if Richard can pull a two day time with the MO guys in and around that, all the better, leaving the option open for families to enjoy Branson on the weekend. This sounds exciting.

Just sent a message to Len and Jason inquiring about their availability that weekend.

I just found this site yesterday. Wish I would have found it years ago. This "not really convention" sound great. I'd love to come if I can get the details worked out. I won't say much, but I will listen and learn.

Well - I'm thinking a rental van from Jersey, a 15 passenger should be able to hold 10 -12 comfortable (with luggage).
A good tentative schedule might be:
arrive the day before - get (re)acquainted dinner.
Day 1 - 9:00 - 12:00 Tech Training
12 - 9:00 Free time (for a show somewhere)
Day 2/3 (if we can get them) Midnight Oil and nights for shows
Day 4 9:00 - 12:00 Tech Training
12:00 - Farewell Lunch
Day 5 (relax, enjoy, fellowship)

cmn reunion

Jon.
Unless Richard has heard otherwise from Len and Jason, we could begin on Wed, March 16 and have the reunion continue on Thursday with Len and Jason coming in on Friday and Saturday, that would give those who brought families to possibly attend the first day of their Len and Jason's workshop and have the weekend to enjoy the sites of Branson. Also, I believe I can make arrangements to have at least one or possibly two 2 bedroom condos available on Wednesday and Thursday for those who are tight on $$$ and are willing to share rooms with others. I don't want anyone not to be able to come because of finances.

Joe, I like the idea of a van rental. It would be a long trip, but good company.

Bob
