I forwarded this to our worship pastor and he said, "Point taken."

Really, one of the biggest for me is arriving on time. As projectionist, I really want to practice with the band. But when they don't get started until a half hour late, that practice is truncated.

I really get hot n jumpy when a stuck up "church' singer-ette is asking for more of this and less of that and a little more on me me me at sound check, then goes "Ok" and puts up the mic, walks away without even further acknowledging the sound guys who make her sound at all much less good.

And I don't work in the sound booth but I know how it goes.

Yep been there done that many times and don't forget the last second Hey can I get a copy of that? I love that one too. It's really fun when I have 4 to 10 people wanting things done or need help and it's 20 minutes before service starts. Giving out email address to members and say Hey contact me during the week so I can get a jump on that. well that don't work either. Well, it all comes with the position and instructing the members is part of it. I have to tell them from time to time. Hey, I'm the only one working this. Get in line and I'll be more than happy to take care of it as soon as I can. That works for me at least. Oh I do smile when I say that.

In our church, the tech person is the final word. If we say no, its not going to happen and everyone respects the fact that they came to us too late. Of course we have not had to invoke that power yet. Praise God!

i always found amusing the different response to sound level between the youth on fridays and the hearing-air wearers on sunday.
