| I'm not certain what the 2006 version looked like (I am assuming not much different than 2007) but I think the biggest difference you will notice with 2009 is the online tab. I used that extensively because of our churches use of videos and online content. There is more stability to the program and the Powerpoint 2007 worked very well for me, I believe they also released the updated version to run PowerPoint 2010 which you probably downloaded. I liked the ability to have a stage monitor or "foldback" with the help of another video card. If you have a screen for those on stage, you can show lyrics and Powerpoint in a different way than what the main screen would look like. There is a "VJ mode." Look on the upper right hand corner of the "live" window and there will be a dropdown menu. From there you can choose it and the media pane will expand under the live content, allowing you to click on media and changing it on the fly during a song if you so choose to have a different background in the same song. The schedule is not backwards compatible, as in whatever you create in 2009 will not be able to be played in 2007. FWIW, even Version 1.7 files won't play nice with 1.6. Your projection computer should be upgraded before going public with any presentation or else you'll get frustrated. There is the audio tab where you can also load up an mp3 file and incorporate that into the schedule which is especially helpful for special music or even if you want to play the file and practice the song while it's playing. There is a new version in the works that will be very different but will still to easy to use. No concrete date has been announced. Hope this helps! |
