streaming video in EW 2009

Can I stream a video over a network from one computer with easyworship to another? If so, how can I do this? Thank you

I'd imagine it would depend on the quality of the video and the speed of your network. If your network is 10baseT, then the chances of a stutter-free stream are likely pretty slim.

I haven't tried it , but if the folder where the video is located on the remote machine is shared and accessible, then just open it like any other video in EW. Just make sure the remote machine is on the whole time.

All that being said: it would likely be easiest and most reliable to simply copy the video from the remote machine to the EW machine and play it locally. I personally would not want to take the risk in something going wrong with streaming a video over the network during the service.

Now that I don't know. My church doesn't do live feeds ever.

I'd imagine, though, that it'd be the same. Someone who has tried it should come along shortly though.

You can store your media on another computer and play it through another computer. It's just accessing a shared file across the network. You'll need a fast network connection though. You would just add the media to the media tab in EasyWorship and use it from there. It's nothing like a live feed. A live feed is where you send a video signal into the computer and EW sends it to the projector. What is the end result you are looking for? Or what are you trying to accomplish?

Thats it!!! Thats what we're trying to do. We record the service, send the live feed to a PC, then send the feed over a network to another PC, that in turn sends it to the projector. We're currently using VLC(?) player, which works, but you have to drag the window from the PC, over to the projector screen. EW would be so much easier if we can do it.
Hope that makes sense, or, are we going about this the wrong way?
Thanks for your help.

Not sure if you can send it via a network. EW needs an actual capture card to capture the video. You could send the video via cat5 cable using a balun adapter at each end, but the computer would need a standard capture card. I can't tell you how good the quality would be. Usually EW captures at either 320x240 or 640x480 and scales it.
