Easy Worship frozen We have Easy Worship 2006. Tonight at rehearsal I went into Song Select service to get lyrics to download. After that Easy Worship froze up. I re-booted the computer. When I went to access Easy Worship I got a message that said index out of date and index: author/title. Now Easy Worship won't open at all. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know what we might try? We did try a restore point, but it wasn't any different.

My suggestion would be to visit the EasyWorship forums (www.easyworship.com/phpBB2/index.php). The programmers are constantly monitoring, and if the question hasn't already been answered, it won't take long. Also, there is an EasyFixIt utility in the EasyWorship folder. It's taken care of the two problems we had with EasyWorship. Maybe it'll work for yours... --Jason

Yep I think the exact same problem. They got it fixed in 2 minute phone consult but lost all music database. NOW we back the database weekly. Hope you have better luck. Been using Easy Worship for close to 3 years and never had a problem untill this one.

johnson81890, I replied to your PM to me on our message board with the info to get you going again. BPENN, do you remember what the steps where that our support had you do? I am wondering why you lost your data. In most instances you should have no problems with you data. Basically what appears to be happening is there is a corrupt record getting applied to the database if EasyWorship is forcefully shut down while it is working with the db. But by allowing EasyWorship to rebuild its database the issue should be fixed without any data loss.

problem solved Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Here's the solution I got from Easy Worship. What I would try is first running 'EasyWorship Fix Database Utility' from Start->Programs->EasyWorship and then try to start EasyWorship. If that doesn't work then go to C:\Program Files\Softouch\EasyWorship\data and delete the file 'Version.dat' and then try to start EasyWorship. Those should get you back up and running. I had to delete the file 'Version.dat' and now it seems to work fine and I didn't lose anything out of the database. I know all you techies want to know why that works, but I just don't know.

Easy Worship 2006 database corruption We just got the new version of EW. I really like it. The ability to use DVD clips is awesome. We had one problem though - when I downloaded a new song from Song Select everything locked up. I was then unable to restart EW. I went to Start - Programs - Easy Worship - Database Repair Tool (or something like that, I'm at home so I can't exactly remember). I ran the repair tool and it worked. Everything was good again. Is this a common problem in EW 2006? Is this going to happen every time we download a new song? Is there a way to avoid it? It's sort of a nuisance to have to repair the database and then restart EW evertime we need a new song. Thanks for any wisdom you have.

This shouldn't be a common problem. We did add some code to build 2 of 2006 which was released yesterday that should improve on this too. If you haven't downloaded it yet you can find it on the downloads page of easyworship.com Have you since tried to download any songs from CCLI to see what happens? We would be curious to know if so. Also when you tried to restart EasyWorship after the problem what was the error you were getting that prevented it from continueing to open? Was it the same 'index out of date' as the above poster was getting. If you have any other issues please let us know and we'll be happy to help you get them resolved ![]()
