| Who Watches?? We have had a Digital Display in the "Commons Area" (Foyer of the church) that plays a looping DVD. We had been using it to make announcements of what classes were being offered, when the next Youth Group Event was going to be etc... It occurred to me that NO ONE was telling me about any of the typo's that I am sure I was making, so I started wondering who was watching the LCD?? This is what I found out - in a nonscientific way. The "church shoppers" were the number one audience of the LCD screen. The "Every Sunday" member said that they really stopped looking at the screen after the first 2-3 months.
What I figured out was that I need to taylor the announcements a little more for the church shoppers. Instead of just putting up the dates and times of classes, I needed to explain what the classes were all about. Something that would catch the eye of a church shopper. I gave more detail then the average member needed, but gave the church shopper something something to grab a hold of, to get some interest in.
I have started to use the LCD as way to grab the new people interested in the church but had not become members yet.
Has anyone else been using their digital displays for this purpose??
Thanks
