I think the Windows Media SDK would lend itself really well to creating a digital signage application that runs on XP and Vista, supporting full-motion video and sound.

Assuming the following...
  • PC is Required (With XP or Vista)
  • Any Size or Resolution of LCD Will Do
  • Media Formats Must Be Supported by Windows Media (Or Be JPG, PNG, BMP, or GIF)
{snip}
You're right, it does work really really well.

From this thread I would like to introduce Exhibeo, A program born on Saturday morning @ 8:00am my time.

Since the beginnings (like 4 days ago!)of a large user interface that asked all the questions on how to run, it now detects what you have running, and how many screens.

Soon, to be built in is Text over video That is found under Tools>, Fast Message I have a sample here, but it's not fully functional yet.

Did you know?

You can create a playlist in Windows Media Player, and import it into Exhibeo, and play it?
Audio and Video, or both!

Did you know?

There's a Easter Egg hidden in the program, Go find it!

Did you know?

Less than 10 hours have been spent coding this program total?

Did you know?

If you are comfortable programming, A interface will be available for you to access and manipulate the program

Did you know?

It costs nothing to use?

Did you know

It has a infinte licence per person

Just a few things You may not have known

Let me know what features you may want to be included, and I'll try my very best to accomodate you

BTW, I'm looking for a few people to try this out at their church/s.
If interested please let me know.

Hey guys,

I've got a problem, a USA company has a program, also called Exhibeo, and it is also a Digital Signage application

http://www.bricanamerica.com/exhibeo.html

So, I need to change the name, has anyone got any suggestions?

If so I'm all ears.

You're in!

The version I have at home I'm working on making a Stretchy application window, like a webpage, stretches out to your screen size.

I could probably argue that one in court.

I'll get some kind of beta published tonight.

I'm also fine-tuning PowerPoint Presentation support ATM as well.

Here it is guys, Beta Version 1.1.

Let me know of any quirks that you encounter.

PPT support is not included in this version, I'm having a few Platform issues (2003 and 2007).

For nutters like kbob who have more then 2 screens, it will automatically detect those screens and use them, up to a maximum of 1 control screen, and 3 display screens.

For those with one sinlge screen, it will give you a window that you can move around.

Let me know of anything that you want added.

You need to have the .Net framework installed to use it, if it does error, please run windows update before telling me about it.

Consider it a Public Beta

I just deleted that last one, a few things wrong with it that was easily fixed.

Here is a nice sliplined Setup File for you, no options to set ATM, will be soon.
Remember to extract then install.

I also just added Save CueList's and Open CueLists (The application's filetype is *.CueList)
Anyone and everyone please feel free to try and report back, if you are not a Pro-Member please PM me and I'll arrrange a way for you to get the program

Fixed a major problem that Ian Craigen pointed out to me.
Thanks Ian

Read up on DotFuscator if you consider releasing. With your non-existent license, anyone can claim it their own. It took me all of 12 seconds to get the full, compilable source with original naming in-tact.
