| Is there anything we can do? We have a Nikon D1X, which, apparently, is outmoded. Long story short, the firewire port is obsolete. . . . . there is no longer a windows driver to support this camera. This basically renders this camera useless, since we connect it to the computer for almost-instant showing of the pictures (and cropping, etc.). We absolutely cannot afford another camera. Short of finding a very old (working) computer still running on service pak 2, it seems we have no choice. Is there *anything* else we can do? At all? |

| Here's a conversation about it with some ideas on what to try. Can you uninstall SP3? Could you use a card reader, instead?

| just get a usb based external card reader that supports the format Well, la tee da-DPR website has this cam in their extensive database on the timeline- http://www.dpreview.com/news/0102/01...ikond1xd1h.asp If you're using one of the older microdrives, you might have a hard time finding a reader for that, but otherwise the card reader looks like the way to go. Have a couple of cards and just swap back and forth if you need to keep pulling picks off the camera. |
