Playing purchased CDs over In-Ceiling for pre-service

Can a church play a CD/purchased music over an in-ceiling system as long as it's within the scope of the congregation?

It is not the venue or audience that matters, the exception to copyright relates to being a direct element of a religious service. Unfortunately, what may be considered part of a service is not at all well defined, so it is probably best to assume a pretty limited definition.

Some of this is not that much unlike some other applications. For example, when a cinema obtains rights to show a movie those rights generally do not include the right to use the soundtrack in any other manner, even in pre-show music or advertising.
