IE8 compared to FF in WP

Getting ready for a relaunch of our church website. We are using WP with the Constructor theme. But some elements are not rendering in IE8 but do in FF. Test website is http://www.uclive.org

Can anybody tell me why I don't get the rounded boxes and shadowing using IE8.

Also, anybody using the Nivo Slider plug-in? Opinions??

No answers for the IE issue ( I m using a Mac) but as for your Slider question, I am a big fan of Display Content Gallery which you can see here...

You're issue with the shadows is caused by the fact that IE doesn't support some of your CSS declarations, for example you're using text-shadow, and box-shadow, with special variations to address both Webkit and Mozilla browsers. It simply isn't possible to apply these effects and expect them to work (yet). These declarations are part of the CSS3 specification, and aren't fully adopted by all major browsers yet. I love using them too, but I tend to use them in places where they don't impact the functionality of the website. Think of them as nice perks to make the site nicer for users with 'good' browsers. "If you use IE, you simply cannot have nice things." You could achieve some of the effects with some trickery, but it's really not worth the effort in this case.
