any wordpress gurus in the house?

A friend of mine is abandoning frontpage & wants to switch over to wordpress. His hosting supports it, but he's unsure about how to transfer over existing files (mainly audio files) to the new wordpress layout.

not being a wordpress guy, I did a few searches, with not much luck & thought "hey, I'm not a cm memeber for nothing!" So.....any tips?

Podpress will allow you to have a player (and create rss for a podcast) from the audio files. If he just wants to upload them to a folder on the server, that should work, too.

Wizzard media also has a compatible player. You can take a look at that.

I've been in the process of building a system that relies on Wordpress for most of the database interaction. If uses curl to parse the rss data from a provider, then creates a post in the database, which is then shown in the content system. Unfortunately due to Frontpages static nature, there is little that can be done to automate a migration to this system, or any other database system. Could you provide a link to this site so I could take a look and see if there is any hope to automate it? If he's currently using RSS, I might be able to make my script work and do all the work, depending on how much information he provides in his rss.

I use wordpress for my church's website and it works very well. I don't have any plain audio on our site but its easy to do so. There are many wordpress plugins that will allow you to embed audio into any wordpress site. Many of them will even create a podcast feed so that you can set yourself up in iTunes.

When I built a temporary church site last year I used the Sermon Browser plugin. It worked great and has many features. Google is your friend.

I can personally second the Sermon Browser plugin. We use it for our site and it works well.

Looking for WP driven sites and the plug-ins they have in use for sermon listening and viewing. Anyone?
