| Redirect mobile devices I need to create a website for worship team that shows schedule for the month. Pretty easy, huh? The problem is that a couple of our members do not have a computer. However they can access Internet via their mobile device. I'd like to try and redirect those users to a mobile friendly site. Any ideas on how to do this? I have found a couple of sites that show how to do this but not sure how to integrate with Joomla. TIA Mike |

| I am sorry that i cannot help you with your question but i have one for you. I am trying to create an online calendar that my AV team can go to to see what positions need to be filled each week and actually fill in their names accordingly. Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated. As to your question, my blackberry will access any website. Blackberry friendly sites certainly display nice but if it is a regular site, i just have to zoom in to see the text. I dont know how the other phones do in this regard. I am new to internet on my phone. Troy |

| I am rethinking the whole redirecting issue. This will make me create and maintain two websites. I think I am going to use Planning Center Online. I use it to schedule my tech team which is small so it hasn't cost me any money. I will need to upgrade to the next higher offering but it has mobile support and emails people reminders, etc. @CBCAV you may want to check this out. I haven't seen anything like what you are looking for but I am sure there is some kind of module that does it or something like it that you can modify. |

| Just thinking out loud here. I believe mobile devices first look for a www.website.com/mobile page to see if a mobile version exists. In joomla you can apply a different theme to different pages of your site. So create a mobile theme, and apply it to the page that is served by your mobile page, as described above. If you create the display pages right, to pull the content from a database, you would then only have to update the information once in the database and both mobile and non-mobile pages would update. All that aside, planningcenteronline.com is a great resource! |

| There is a top level domain, .mobi, specifically for this purpose.

| FYI - with planning center online - the mobile version only works on iPhones. Well - there's a way to use it with windows mobile if you have a pretty new phone, but it's designed for the iphone.

![]() The iPhone app works fantastic but on BBY it not all that usable. It will still send out reminders, so we'll give it a try for a month to see how things work out. Really it is for one person, everybody else has access to a PC. I will basically tell him to 'suck it up!'. |
