What is a good LMS?

Can anyone recommend a good, free LMS (Learning Management System)? I've tried Moodle on a couple different occasions but had trouble installing it. I've browsed www.opensourcecms.com but I'd really like to hear some personal experiences with some of this software.

We use Moodle™ at my school, but thankfully, we don't locally manage the server, our ISD keeps track of that.
There are services that will host your Moodle™ resources for you so you don't have to have your own local server and deal with the Unix programming issue.
If you'd like to see some of our courses (public school curriculum), I can give you access.
I'm also working on a music theory curriculum.
