| Does anyone outsource their file server? Hi We currently have a whole server system set up in our church building. The problem is that no one knows anything about it and the guy that built/set it up has since left the church. We are looking for an option where we can outsource this area. Is this possible and has anyone done something similar? |

| Sure there are options to outsource, but there are several things you need to keep in mind. 1) bandwidth at your church, both upload and download speeds will matter 2) security of the files and content 3) are there any applications running on it now 4) many more.

| I agree with Andrew; you will need to take a serious look at your Internet Service Provider. Network reliability will become a bigger issue. Security, backups and other support services are typically part of the service agreement. Another option might be to "outsource" the skillset; you keep the hardware on-site & contract with someone like Geek Squad for your support - Google "IT tech support services" for more options. |
