| To oversimplify, it means your ISP can give priority to some traffic over another. So, if it wants to slow down (or prevent) you from downloading certain file types it can. Or, if it wants to give priority to some websites over others it can. While this can be sort of good (preventing honest folk from subsidizing movie pirates), it can also be sort of bad (for instance, making it easy to watch pay TV but difficult or impossible to watch free TV). |
