Regulating net neutrality seems like a paradox.. I mean if you regulate it, is it still neutral?

But overall this is good news IMO. And I think that it was the right ruling because unlike the phone company 25 years ago, the internet cannot be monopolized by anyone.

I'm too tired of thinking about the government, regulatory boards intervention and whatnot. I read this but can anyone boil it down to layman's terms. What does it mean to me?

To oversimplify, it means your ISP can give priority to some traffic over another.

So, if it wants to slow down (or prevent) you from downloading certain file types it can.
Or, if it wants to give priority to some websites over others it can.

While this can be sort of good (preventing honest folk from subsidizing movie pirates), it can also be sort of bad (for instance, making it easy to watch pay TV but difficult or impossible to watch free TV).
