PIP LCD monitors We are installing a monitor in our nursery with a live video feed - so the nursery workers feel more a part of the service. I occassionally use Power point but do not want a blank monitor hanging on the wall when I don't. My idea was to get a 20+ inch monitor that supports PIP. The PIP could show the Power point while the video feed is on the main screen - or vice versa. Is this a good idea or does anyone have a better idea???

Decent idea. You could also get a separate PiP unit, but you'd be limited to standard definition and wouldn't be able to take full advantage of the LCD's full resolution. But as I think about it, you probably wouldn't in the first place. So that's how I'd go about it, getting a separate PiP unit, then just finding the right size and priced LCD or CRT TV. A unit like this could do it... http://store.nexternal.com/shared/St...unt2=550422310 Or this one... all depending on what your input and output formats will be. http://store.nexternal.com/shared/St...unt2=550422310 Ben

Thanks for the info. I had read a little about external PiP units, but I can get a Dell 2005fpw on evilbay for under $300. By the time I buy an lcd and external PiP I am already over that amount. Resolution etc. is not really an issue in our context. Thanks for taking the time to respond! ![]()
