I have an air card too. Used it last year and it worked great.

I won't be at the convention, but you might want to look into QoS on the routers. You should probably be able to "prioritize" certain IP addresses / subnets / MAC addresses / ports / protocols with most decent routers.

Lucas can bring a Cisco box with him to do it, if not

Just an update on my end. I've tested out some Linksys IP cameras and I think they will suffice. It won't be like watching TV, of course, but I'm good with it. We won't actually be using the Linksys cameras because of some issues (and the fact that I accidentally bought the model without the mic... so now I have some surveillance cameras for the house ). I'm looking at a Panasonic camera right now and if that doesn't meet standards I'll order something else to test. I just have to find the right camera/software solution. Setting up IP cameras are not a walk in the park. I'll be most comfortable with setting them them up here at CMN HQ and just bringing my router to patch into the church's system.

My opinion is that we won't have ANY open access to the church's network during sessions. We'll be streaming 4 classes at once, receiving chat info and uploading recorded sessions. It needs to be priority. We can actually set up a separate router for those who MUST get on the 'Net -- using my wireless broadband and anyone else who wants to volunteer their bandwidth. I have a router specifically for this purpose.

I'm glad the church was able to up their bandwidth! I hope it's not just for us. If we do well financially I'd really like to help pay for that. Mark, what is the streaming setup like in your auditorium? For our general sessions we might use what you have or set something else up. One thing that I keep forgetting to do is contact the company that hosted our streaming last year. We still have the TriCaster and can use that if we want to.

I think it's going to go very smoothly.

right now I have our 3 cameras feeding a video mixer, which is feeding into a camera that i'm using to convert the s-video signal into firewire, and the feeding that into the computer. I have the audio coming in from aux mix on the board, and I'm using ustream to send it all out

I asked the deacons to give me one year of upgraded net access to see how good I can get the streaming ministry for shut ins and people who can't make it to church for various reasons. It's true that CMN was big factor in me pushing for it, but I didn't use that as part of my argument with church leadership

I think we can get a better stream than from ustream. Let me contact our guy and see what we can do. What kind of cameras and mixer (you can email me that info if you want)?

Congrats on the upgrade!!

If we need, I have a Canopus ADVC110 Firewire capture box I could bring in. If we need, I could also bring in up to three analog studio cams with 12X lenses on them, and CCUs. It may well be more than we need, but if we need them, they're available and a mere half-hour's drive away from the site.

In fact, if we need some mics or stands or whatever too, I bet I can come up with some.

we're good for stands and mics, but your cameras might be better than ours..

let's talk about it closer to the date.
