| Gateway laptop for sale (not working) My laptop got water damage and won't turn on. Someone with the right knowledge might be able to get it going. | Water damage in a laptop usually requires a new motherboard and 2 1/2 hrs of tech time to replace. You may be able to find a replacement mobo, but it is really a waste of time and money. You could easily put 1/2 to 3/4 of the price for a new laptop and there are no guarantees it will work in the end. Part out the RAM, hard drive, CD/DVD drive/burner, the LCD screen, AC adapter, keyboard, etc and use the money to buy newer/faster/bigger equipment. |
