Searching for Job: Lighting or Tech Director

For the last three years I have been on staff as the lighting director for a church near where I go to school. In those three years we have added a contemporary service and have done a complete remodel of our worship center, which includes new lighting (including an inventory of 12 automated fixtures), sound, and video system, to accommodate the new service. Being the lighting director at the time of the remodel, all lighting equipment was specked by or chosen based of criteria I gave the A/V contractor. I will have a BFA in lighting design come the 13th of June from Wright State University. While at Wright State, I also obtained experience in: designing and mixing with both digital and analog boards, set design, and basic set construction.

With that said, I am currently looking for a lighting director or technical arts director position. I do have a good working knowledge of the installation and basics of video and Photoshop as well. I am currently employed at Interlochen Center for the Arts till the 16th of August at which time I would be available to start. Being single and just out of college, I am open to relocating most anywhere.

This Fall they are launching their first regional campus in the Saline High School auditorium, Saline, Michigan. They will be starting with two services estimating 2,000 people their first weekend service. Elements will be live music, possible drama, I-mag, and video-cast of the message from the main campus; three screens two images.

This person needs to be a strong leader with experience in all the technical crafts (sound, lighting, video, staging, power, rigging). They will also need to build teams of healthy and strong volunteers (teams do not currently exist). Doing midweek repairs and adjustments. There may also be a need during the week at the main campus. Meeting with team members and continuing the recruitment and training arm. This is not for a "want-to-be". They need someone with a proven track record. The estimated start date would be July 6. Sooner if possible.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and ability. Moving allowance maybe possible. This is a healthy staff with the desire as the Lord leads to launch additional sites each year.
