Arrow {How To} New Way To Download in MXC

Instead of clicking to get the bigger image and then right-clicking (which will soon be blocked entirely), you can just click the "Click Here To Download" link to download the full-size version of the image. I'll be doing the same for videos and other file types soon.

Cool

Though I hope disabling right-click isn't intended to be a security measure, because I have yet to see that work 100%, but it can get annoying

I put some other security measures in place today, so I don't have to disable it. I know that people can get around it, but I'm just trying to reduce temptation.

Does this mean you're staying with the current MXC software then?

Yeah, I think it's going to be our best bet and I feel good about it. I haven't heard back about my $1100 refund yet, so keep that in prayer!

will drag and drop still work in your favorite browser, ff? Right now I middle click on the larger image from the grid of thumbnails, which generates a new tab and the large image. I then drag and drop the image from the browser to the folder I'm putting it into.

That way, I don't have to download the image a second time, cutting down on bandwidth needed-though it would be roughly the same as what you're proposing.

That trick doesn't work with either ie or opera though...sigh. And if you've already implemented this, it doesn't work in ff any more either-boo hoo!!!

One of the biggest complaints and tech support requests is about having to click so much to download images. My hack fixes that. But to use it I had to enable an image protection feature -- which I should have had on from the start. I just discovered today that the URL of the full-sized images were WIDE OPEN, meaning someone could share the link with anyone and they could download it. This protection measure generates the image with a script, which also means that -- no -- you can't drag and drop. Sorry!

That's Great Tim!

That'll make integrating the MXC into Worship Plus really really easy.

Thanks!

(1) Which link, the image or the zip? i.e.,
or
CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD ZIP FILE
If you get the message clicking on the zip file, try the image one instead.

(2) Are you on Mac or PC?
