what I'm doing right now, however, is asking people to only upload their own deleted works - not other people's deleted works |

| Thanks to everybody who has uploaded - and those who haven't, please do! ![]() I have to beg the forgiveness of those who have uploaded already. Unfortunately, getting everything I need to get done before my surgery tomorrow is taking more time and (especially) energy than I thought, and I won't be able to credit you with your bonus days today... however, I will do it as soon as I can (perhaps even while I'm stuck at home recovering). Incidentally - a little more detail on the backup failures: The primary backup drive died because of "a power spike of some sort that caused your PCB to fail, and ultimately led to a failure of the read/write heads". [PCB here means "Printed Circuit Board"] Also, "the pre-amp on the HDA (Head Disk Assembly) was also blown, which is a very rare problem." I also discovered myself the reason why the secondary backup was incomplete, despite the drive being good. I happened to notice that the drive, which was purchased preformatted, had a FAT32 file system! (I had never thought to check.) When it ran into files that were bigger than the maximum 4GB filesize, not only wouldn't it copy them, but it would kill that particular branch of the backup tree - which is what led to only a partial backup. |

| When I click the menu to go to the "MXC Jam FTP Instructions" I get page not found. But I guess you're under the knife right now, so this can wait until you're back in the saddle again. ![]()
