Our New Dog

I've wanted to post this since my birthday, but just now have had the time.

As many of you know, we lost our 14-year-old Dachshund "Sunset" a few months ago. The house just isn't the same without a walking vacuum cleaner and little clicks from her paws in the kitchen. Well, much to our great surprise, we got a new dog a couple of days before my b-day. The BEST part of it is -- it's K-9 from one of my most favorite Sci-Fi shows, "Doctor Who". Having a robotic dog has a lot of benefits. He doesn't mess up the carpet -- he doesn't eat -- he zaps bad guys with a laser that comes out of his nose.... on the downside he does talk back and is generally smarter than any of us.

This is hands-down one of the very best birthday presents I've ever received. Thanks, Don!! (SMTV)[S]You Totally Rock!![/S]

Anyway, how was your birthday?

It was nice. Thanks for asking. I'm on a new med that makes me sleep a lot... so, I slept a lot. Then the extended fam surprised me by all showing up for dinner at a favorite hole-in-the-wall restaurant I really like. That was weird because it really is like a "greasy spoon" type of place, not a typical b-day party place. I got some DVDs (that's what the fam knows I like). It was cool!

I know what you mean. I have to pay attention to where i take peps to lunch cause some of the places i go are pretty funky but have great food. I'm glad you had a great birthday!
