I don't think I'd mix Sony and Panasonic cameras (the colors will never be quite right).

"computer" can mean a lot. I'd say you need a dedicated streaming computer that will encode flash. This is separate from your lyric/worship computer.

One other thing, I'm about to meet with a church that is in the final stages of installing cameras. They told me streaming when they meant youtube/vimeo. Are you meaning a live stream as it happens or a recorded video that is on a website that can be played at any time.

Morning,
I would suggest getting a second computer.
Ideally a dual core 2.8ghz with 2 - 4 gigs of ram.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dell-GX620-T...item3f1196ee24
A great graphics card, at least a 256 or 512mb card. I would get something that has enough pci slots (1 for graphics card/ 1 video capture)
I would eventually get a rack mount case, makes it look real nice with all the other gear.

Then you will need a good video capture card that works with adobe flash encoder or the windows encoder. I would lean to the flash side of it.

To set up streaming, you would need a decent pc/internet. Video from your video mixer, audio from your sound board.

I really like www.sermon.net they are a good group of guys that will help you out.
They give you a log in and then you get the live server url & stream to plug into the Free adobe encoder. They provide the code to put on your website. It makes it real easy. And it streams to your phone over 3g or higher.

PM later and I will give you my contact info.
In Christ,
Paul Wood

Streaming Solutions

Hey folks, I just found this site so this is my 1st post here.

Having a "Church without walls" can mean very different things to folks so I'd really suggest setting down and first exploring the vision that he has, and how you see that happening through technology.

How are you doing your cable runs from your HVX200 P2 cameras? The SE-800 does have a 1394 (firewire) out put that you could interface with a computer which would allow the switcher to become your video source.
However I'm concerned that you're taking a great signal from the P2 cameras and only using a lower quality SD output to switch with.

Also, it's not an ideal situation to mix sources - but we do it all the time in Broadcast TV, so mixing manufacturers is never a problem. Provided both cameras are setup correctly you will get a close enough match.

If using the DV (firewire) output to a computer the SE-800 will do the job, just get something like Paul recommended to capture the SD video. If you are looking to stream HD that's a bit different! But I have solutions for that too.

I'd be happy to talk to you about anything in details - you can email - or even call me 713-688-3597.
