| In-House Video Broadcast - Text over live video? Ok, we have been running an in-house video broadcast, distributed throughout the facility for a while. Only we want to change the content of the feed up. Let me describe and see if you can tell me how to accomplish what we want to do. Setup (nothing fancy): - We do not do IMAG - VIDEO SOURCE : 4 camera PTZ Vaddio setup (ports 1-4) - Worship Software & Computer : same feed currently feeding Front Left and Right projectors as well as a rear projector feed; also feeds a Kramer scalar which feeds into the Vaddio system (port .- Video out from the Vaddio is feeding DA's that push the signal to recording devices as well as the TVs and monitors throughout the facility. - Currently worship software is running background scenes, video backdrops, etc., it is not running live video as the backround. What we want to accomplish: - Worship Software & Computer : feed Front Left and Right projectors (same feed); Rear Projector similar feed with Foldback enabled (shows next line of lyrics to musicians on the stage, while current line of lyrics projects to the front projectors). - The video feed that we send to the in-house broadcast and recording devices, we would like to change the feed from either live video OR worship lyrics feed; to be a feed of live sanctuary video with the lyrics, bible verses, sermon points on top of the video near the bottom of the screen. That being said, what is out there to make the text from the worship software and do overlay on the live video. Would prefer it to come from the worship software, so that we dont have to setup 2 systems for every service (worship software and an overlay character generator) Thoughts? Thanks Greg ps: if this better fits in the worship software area, then so beit, but its really a combination of video with the data from the worship software. |

| Greetings, My church is looking to do exactly what is being described here. We've using EasyWorship to accomplish our text over video needs, but have seen noticeable lag in the video when we run the video through the software. We're convinced that we need a dedicated piece of hardware to key in the text. But as none of us are experts in broadcast video, we're looking for suggestions. What sorts of hardware would you suggest for a video switcher/keyer? We would find it extremely helpful if you could further classify the options in terms of budget (i.e. "Budget/Normal/You've got money to spend") |

| Villecoder, The typical desktop compter used for lyrics is not nearlly powerful enough to do a real-time encode of an incoming video signal, key another signal on-top and the output the composited signal out of the computer without considerable latency (delay). The better solution would be to use your computer ONLY for creation of Key and Fill video signals and then use a production video switcher to mix your cameras and full screen graphics and key-over text. You would need a production switcher that has a downstream keyer and outputs from your computer for simultaneous key (aka: alpha channel) and fill in the same signal type as the switcher.

Thats why I asked the question to begin with. Am toast for another year however because budget proposals have already been submitted for 2012. Looks like I have another 9mo to research. |

| Here is a link with a list of hardware/software needed to do what you are asking (assuming you can run Propresenter): http://www.renewedvision.com/propres...es#alpha-keyer

| We use a For-A HVS-300 HD-SDI video switcher that does a great job putting text over live video. Ours has 8 inputs including our cameras and computer running Pro Presenter. The computer output is converted to HD-SDI by a AJA box before it gets to the switcher.

| @tdangelo Thank you very much, sir! This is going to put me on the right track. Any suggestions for a windows-based architecture? (And no, I tried the "buy a Mac" route already )@bpalermini Thank you sir for the example in hardware! I'll definitely take a look at this. |
