streaming live

I'm using firewire to broadcast our service which works fine but is there a device which I can use the broadcast without a delay and that works as well as firewire.

thanks

Wow! I wasn't aware that there was an HD camera made that had absolutely no live video outputs. The only way for you to improve your output is to buy a different camera.

I believe the available outputs on that camera are:
-HD component (three wire)
-HDMI
-Firewire (iLink)
-S-Video (Y/C)
-Analog composite video

But are those outputs all available for 'live' use? I don't know, however the only references I found to live recording or streaming refer to using the i.Link connection while all the other outputs seem to be referenced only in relation to playback.

Brad, I have no idea. I have never laid hands on the camera but I did read the manual from Sony's website. Those are the outputs listed. No indication is made regarding camera-live verses playback. Good point though.

It's disappointing how many times you can't tell such information from the product information. Another aspect that is often difficult to tell from manuals or cutsheets is whether camcorder models can be used a just a camera and will provide any video output without also recording. Unless you can get your hands on the device and try it, it often seems difficult to know for sure how the video outputs on prosumer and entry level pro camcorders behave.

And that in a nutshell is why a full service professional supplier will charge more than a discount box house. A full service professional supplier will find out the answer for you, or send you a demo/loaner item to try out, or both ... a discount box house will (if you are lucky) give you a web link to the manufacturer's website.
