Adobe Premiere Elements Audio

Posted Friday, January 2nd, 2009 at 05:33 AM by sien
After some exploring, I realised that you can duplicate the left or right audio track in PE4.
The function can be found under Audio Effects. Fill Left or Fill Right. You can also add compression to the audio track under Dynamics.
I've been too used to Adobe Premiere Pro where you could just copy and paste the left or right track.

HP Laptops

Over one of our holidays, there was a gospel workshop which I had to record. There was no computer, so I brought up the HP Laptop we sometimes use for projection. There was just one problem, the built in sound card quit working. No worries, I'm prepared with a usb sound card I can plug in. So I fire up the laptop and the usb sound card, it detects the sound card, Audacity recognises the sound card and we are good to go. But halfway through the recording I notice a low level buzz. Wired Mics Sound Better

Posted Sunday, November 9th, 2008 at 01:34 AM by sien
Yesterday was our church elections and one of our team had setup one wired lavalier for our senior pastor and one wireless handheld for the translator. Because of a really soft spoken translator, we had to crank the gain on the wireless handheld, but when we did it would send the system into feedback. During the break I substituted the wireless handheld for a wired Sennheiser e835, it was a big improvement, we could really get some great levels from the wired handheld and it sounded much fuller...

Electrical Capers

Posted Monday, September 15th, 2008 at 02:24 AM by sien
I happened to be in church early and came across a sign in the av control area that one of our
13A Single dp switches was not working.
So I decided I should do something about it.
I turned off the main breaker power and spent
about an hour to swap a working switch, bent under a crawl space in an awkward position, only able to use my left hand to replace the switch. I was perspiring at the end but...

Projectors and Cabling

Posted Saturday, July 12th, 2008 at 05:17 PM by sien

Was helping setup a DVD video show at a friends church. The first problem was that the composite video cabling to the projector was bad. Unknown type of cabling, with video and stereo audio using the same cable. The picture was bad with ghosting and skewing. Even the VGA cabling for laptop projection was bad.

So we tried the portable projector. Using a S-video cable from the dvd player to the Sony portable projector. The picture looked good

For sound, I used a rca...
