Technology in the Church

Hi Friends,

I am teaching a technology class at a seminary and as part of my class I am having my students join and participate at CMN. They should be introducing themselves in this thread shortly. I would like you to make them feel welcome.
Thanks!

Hi my name is Jeremiah Gayman and i attend Antietam Bible College and am currently in my third year. I am currently studying missions and feel that God is calling me into missions, but not sure yet in what area. Maybe home missions with technology or teaching in Africa, it is up to God and im open to His Will. I am taking Technology and the Church class because I feel that it will benefit me in the future in missions! God bless

Welcome to all of you! We look forward to serving you as you explore tech in the church.

You know it is not about the technology, right?

It's about Jesus and His example. And Jesus was all about the people.

It's about the people. The people you lead, the people you train and the people you serve.

The tech will change everywhere you go. At some churches, you will wonder if you are at NASA Mission Control. At other churches, adding a projector is a huge, radical step.

But people - that is what we're called to pour into and invest in. If I am drawn to tech, perhaps it is because God made me that way! But the tech is all junk. There's just new junk and old junk.

It's about all them people. Tech is just another means to engage them in the Gospel!

Welcome!

Amen brother! without the people our tech is just junk of no use, but with the direction of God we can reach so many for the Gospel! its amazing how technology is being used in the Church to further the message of Christ and His saving power!

Hello and welcome!

Technology is a tool that exists in this time and place. What is considered high-tech today will someday pass into oblivion. (Do you remember 8-track tapes or document facsimile services?) What matters is the message, not the tool itself.

Selecting the right tool to deliver a message is key -- its the difference between being able to reach someone and not getting them at all. My kids love text messaging (it gets them wherever they are all the time) but hardly ever check their voice mail. How can I expect them to get my message if they don't hear it?

The group that you find here comes from many walks of life and will have a different take on how to share messages. But the key thread through it all is we are all interested in sharing the greatest message ever told: the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

And you being here makes this even better - you're interested in sharing the message and have your own thoughts too! So let us know what you think!

Hello to everyone and welcome to those new and in the class. I am excited for you but more for us to hear your enthusiam, excitement and you "take" on what you see and hear.

Here is how I put it: "the main thing, is the main thing and the main thing is - making disciples of Jesus Christ!"
