Why not do it right and skip the Soundblaster fiasco?
|
Primarily because I want to use what I already have without the time and expense associated with building a new DAW. With some extensive searching I found
this website which had exactly what I was looking for.
This is something that I'd recommend to other members of this forum as it has quite a few useful tools for anyone who uses their PC to play and/or record audio.
It has a really nice graphical interface that lets you visually make routing connections from point A to point B and allows you to put various things in between your connections such as effects, compression, additional volume controls, etc.
So for example, if your sound card has 2 outputs on it.. say the green jack and black jack, you can set up one for use with a set of head phones while using the other for your output to the audio console.. say that you want to cue up a video or some music during a different part of the service. You can do it without the audio outputting to the console.
And I know it's probably better to do something like this via the console but it would be great for setups where there is high dependency on the PC.
