Bad burn & disc failure -- recovery options

The CD recording of our first service will not open on any drive it try it in. The CD of the second service failed at 5:14.

Any ideas for trying to recover the audio data from the first CD?

are you able to view the individual files on the disc? If so, then just try copying everything over to the pc, and see what you have...but my guess is that you'll need a disc recovery tool...

Are you capturing any video with sound? If so, you can extract the audio from that camera. Otherwise, KBob's right. I smell recovery tool in your future...

...of course the second service is a wash if you had not other capturing devices running.

Went back to the church this morning and put the 1st service disc back in the recorder. On a whim tried to "refinalize" the disc... it worked. ??? Go figure!

Perfect example of why I always run an analog tape machine as a backup to the computer recording machines. Glad you were able to recover it!
