Personally, graphics seldom fix your problem. Your issues will likely not be on ISO Centers. You can likely fix your issues (partially, EQ is not the complete or first solution) with a parametric in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing, then lock it up and leave it alone. I might consider leaving a graphic out for monitors IF the mic and monitor positions and personnel constantly change. I would consider a Symetrix Jupiter in place of many of the simple DSP solutions out there. In addition to providing delay, graphic and parametric EQ functions on the ins, outs, etc, you get a matrix, a gain sharing mixer option, the ability to set up an app for computers and smart phones to adjust presets, volumes, emergency mute, etc. EV Netmax processing is stellar, resilient. We sell dbx as well, but have moved away from all things digital there, because EV (Dynacord) processors are just better constructed, better sounding, and better supported. We do not have issues with mother board batteries, convertor boards dying, and units sending huge pops through the audio output when powering down. The DC One would be a KILLER discreet two in, six out with sub processor. You can do time alignment, compression, parametric and graphic EQ. I would probably do a 31 band graphic for monitors if the wedges and stage set were not stationary. You get what you pay for. That budget junk will not do what it says it will. Behringer, dbx, ART and other cheap filters are wide, waaay overlapping, etc. Have a local tech put them on a bench and show you just how off they are. Those brands are all about selling something to somebody on a budget, not selling something that sounds and works great. |
