Check things that might only run when people are in the building. In our youth room we get some nasty interference when the dish washer in the room over is turned on. It could also be AC or an air handler unit. lights in the next room ect.

pops and crackles

We have had pops and crackles for some time to. My sound man and I thought it was coming from an old mackie vlz32 board that we were having other troubles with but we replaced it this month with an allen & heath gl240032 and it's still happening. Last week we noticed that it wouldn't happen when the room was empty but when it would fill up it started. The revelation came to us when the congregation would stand up, the speakers would really pop and crackle. We are doing more research but we believe (including the sound man from our sister church in bethel redding) that it's static electricity in the air. Bethel is a 10,000 member church with multi thousand dollor system and they get the same issue as people move around.
