Second channel compressor/limiter/gate buzz

Hello

We just installed a ROLLS RP252 Compressor in our sound system and the second channel when plug in causes a buzz.
we have the compressor plug in the console at the insert jack, on the two channels for our wireless mics. I used a TRS to two 1/4 for each channel and the first channel worked fine but when I plug in the second channel the speakers buzz or humm. The compressor was new but cheap $48.00 on Ebay.
This may be the problem but I'm hoping that someone may know if there is something I'm doing wrong?? Thanks to all that help.

I would just try some basic troubleshooting here.

Does the hum always occur with just channel two inserted?

Try swapping the cables from ch 1 to ch 2.

Try any configuration you can think of including using the compressor in line with the mic as opposed to the insert point.

Best wishes.

Pete

I did try swapping cables from ch 1 to ch 2 and no change. I believe the second channel is bad on the compressor. I'm going to try and return it for another.
