Audio recording using IPad 2

I am very interesting in using an IPad to record our services. I found an adaptor that will plugin and use the inline mic for about $10. I tried GarageBand and it worked great until 320 measures in and it limited out. Not cool!
Is there another app out there? Or is there a good work around for GarageBand?

Not sure what the limitations are on "measures," but try the real-time view (hh:mm:ss:ff) and see if that helps. How long are your services? Hours are about 70min. We use GarageBand, but not on an iPad.

I have looked and can't find a way to change it on the iPad app. I have also searched it on the internet and found the same problem.

Not sure about a workaround for GB, but there's an app called FiRe 2 that will do exactly what you're looking for. I'd bet its The most professional recording software you can get on an iOS device.

I came across FIRe 2 last night. I emailed them to get some feedback. How easy is it to export? Can you export it into GB? The guy that edits our services uses GB.

Here's a great review of the app:

youtube.com/watch?v=L5qvzHKsieI&feature=youtube_gdata_player

It looks pretty easy to export. It shows you how in there. It also shows that you can share all your files to anyone on your local network via HTTP, which seems like a pretty simple solution. As soon as you're done recording, the guy who edits could go to the http site and download it for editing.

Do you edit in GarageBand on a Mac or on your iPad? Mac editing would work just fine and be super simple. On the iPad, it could probably be done, but I think you'd have to put the audio file on your computer then load it back onto the iPad as a music file. Apple doesn't allow saving music files onto the iPad directly from apps.

Hope that helps,

Nate

Wouldn't it be better to just buy a $200 flash recorder?

Ya it will recognize it. I had FiRe 1 for a while and that recognized it just fine.
