One thing that I have done a few times with good results was to retrofit a semi-decent set of headphone parts into a pair of hearing protectors. They look like the older style headphones but they are designed to protect your ears from loud noises. For about $25 or so, Walmart carries a pair with water filled ear cups that give you 30db of noise isolation. They squeeze your head a little until you learn how to adjust the metal headband but it does the job.

I see that here the beyerdinamic brand does not appear too often, i use a set of Beyerdynamic DT 231 PRO, they sound very realistic to me and i am happy with them, sure i would like to go higher in the range however costs are a a bit too high for us.

Do the ATHM30's easily replacable cable?

I've been looking at the Senhiser HD212's, i like the fact that you can replace almost everything on them! Anybody got an oppion on these?

After trying Sennheisers and Bose, I settled on and love my Audio Technica's.

The HD280 sounds decent and has usable isolation. The ExtremeHeadphones EX29 (current version only) sounds more natural and has the best isolation. (There's one other that has isolation equal to the EX29 - it has 7506 drivers and sounds better than 7506, but not as good as the EX29.)

I also like the M-Audio IE-10 buds. Isolation is on par with the 280s, sound quality is on par (or maybe exceeds) the EX29.
