| The master volume does affect the noise. I am noticing it on all the units. The units are about 2 years old now. They are the A-16II's. To me it sounds like I have the gain too high, but the volumes for each channel are not low by any means. I guess it could be a grounding issue, but I'm not sure. Quote:

| To add to the questions, are you sure your gain structure is set up correctly. Typically you don't want to have the master volume up very high. This will tend to elevate the noise floor of the units. You want to drive each input as hard as you can without clipping. This should allow you to run the master a little lower and lessen the Waterfall that you are hearing.

| I haven't tried unplugging the cat5 yet. I'll give that a shot. As far as the master volume, yeah it is a little higher than I would like it to be. I will take a look at the gain structure as well. Have you guys had this problem before? |

| The Avioms are notoriously noisy. If you are not cranking the audio in to the Anet then you will have to crank the noisy Headphone amp. If you are going further than 12 o'clock on the headphone amp then you need to get the gain structure set better on the front end. crt
